Breaking the rules, daring, go for it – it is only a canvas, give yourself freedom of colors, freedom of self. It is not without pain, but it can be with less limitations.

Art student buys an auction artwork

I am writing briefly to share my reaction to the events of last night. My husband and budding artist daughter were fortunate enough to share a table with you last night at the Arty Gras event. Your painting, Mystery Storm caught my daughter\’s passion at the Gallery opening and it was the one piece she wished to enjoy for the rest of her life. It is not our habit to indulge our children in such an elaborate way, but it sang to my husband as well. Here I must tell you, my daughter has had the opportunity to have such exposure to Fine Art as to include some of the most wonderful art museums across the country. She has a true passion for beauty. Never have I seen her more taken with a piece than Mystery Storm. As it was unveiled in our living room last night the thought of \”Tempest\” was first in my mind before they shared the title of the piece. To say that my heart lept at it being revealed would be an understatement. It is an amazing piece and we are honored to be the care takers of such a beautiful work of Art. Your passion and talent are treasures and I am grateful my daughter has had the opportunity to know you as well. Thank you for being you and sharing your great gift. Mystery Storm will be the centerpiece of our home from this time until my daughter has a home of her own to enjoy it in, and even then, it will be tough to let her take it. With Sincere Gratitude, Laurie Nickerson

The blue is purring
Letting go of my trauma,
Letting go of old me
The me that was.
I have stop holding.
No keeping these parts of me to myself
Less suffering for me,
More support from the world
More there for the little child in me

My art Process

Posted by yaelzm on December 18th, 2007

I just finished the series “my Scream,” and updated it to my site. Now, as in every transitional phase, I am on a crossroad, trying to finger out where to go next in my painting process. As usual, my artwork keeps changing and evolving, I need to let go of the previous art process, to charge new energies to the next phase.

I recently started a new series of combining interesting human figures to my abstract. My rule is that they have to be part of the abstract. I am not sure I am there yet or that it is working for me. So I let go and I am taking a week or two studio free time. In a little bit I will go back to my studio. Meanwhile, I am writing a novel.

Unfortunately my mind is racing and cannot let go of the images that I already formed. They keep me company even if I am not physically in my studio.
